We are recruiting a skilled Panel Wireperson to assemble, wire, and test low-voltage electrical distribution panels in a busy workshop environment. This is a hands-on role requiring high standards of work, accuracy, and safety.
The Role
As a Panel Wireperson, you will build electrical panels and assemblies to engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring work is completed safely, neatly, and to agreed quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, and BOMs
- Assemble and wire LV distribution panels, control panels, and sub-assemblies
- Cut, strip, crimp, label, and terminate cables to a high standard
- Install trunking, cable looms, terminals, busbars, breakers, contactors, relays, meters, and sockets
- Carry out basic electrical testing (continuity, insulation resistance, functional checks)
- Identify and report drawing errors, missing components, or build issues
- Work to production schedules and build deadlines
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
About You
- Proven experience as a Panel Wireperson, Electrical Fitter, or LV Panel Builder
- Experience wiring and testing low-voltage (400VAC) distribution panels
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong attention to detail and quality of work
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge of BS EN 61439, BS 7671, and switchgear up to 630A is desirable
