We are currently recruiting for a Metal Finisher to join a well-established catering equipment manufacturer based in Braintree. This is a full-time opportunity offering £15 per hour.
This role would suit an experienced Metal Polisher with a background in stainless-steel polishing and fettling, who is confident using a range of hand and power tools.
About the role:
As a Metal Finisher, you will be responsible for fettling, preparing and polishing stainless-steel components used within bespoke catering equipment. You will work within a busy workshop environment, ensuring components are finished to a high standard and ready for the next stage of production.
- Polishing stainless-steel components to a high-quality finish
- Carrying out fettling and preparation of metalwork
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Removing imperfections, sharp edges and excess material
- Preparing components for finishing and assembly
- Working to required quality standards
- Maintaining a clean and organised workshop area
- Following all relevant health & safety procedures
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience as a Metal Finisher
- Strong stainless-steel polishing experience
- Proven fettling experience
- Confident using hand and power tools
- Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
- Able to work accurately within a busy manufacturing environment
- Reliable, hardworking and self-motivated
- Good understanding of workshop health & safety
Desirable (for top salary bracket):
- Experience polishing bespoke stainless-steel catering equipment
- Previous experience within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Experience working to a high cosmetic finish
