Sheet Metal Worker – Basildon
A medium sized aerospace company based in Basildon is looking for a Sheet Metal Worker.
Key responsibilities include
- Setting up and using a fly press.
- Setting up and operating fabricating machines such as brake press, guillotine and band saws to cut, bend and straighten metal.
- Shaping metals using hand tools and machines including stretch forming, rubber press, brake presses, etc.
- Deburring, drilling and other sheet metal duties.
- Layout, measuring and marking dimensions and reference lines on materials/panels according to drawings or templates using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares and rulers.
- Working with aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel.
- Adhering to and following ISO 9001 procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in aerospace or automotive sectors as a Sheet Metal worker.
- Experience using fabricating machines such as fly presses, brake presses, guillotines, band saws, etc.
- Experience in precision engineering / manufacturing settings.
Compensation and benefits
- Hourly rate: £18.59.
- Working hours: 6am to 6pm, Monday to Thursday (4‑day week).
- Overtime paid at 1.5×.
- Benefits: benefits platform, death in service, pension.
- Permanent role with a well‑kept facility.
