We are currently recruiting for a CNC Miller to join a leading aerospace manufacturing company based in Basildon. The CNC Miller will set and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision aerospace components from engineering drawings, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, safety, and compliance.
Duties:
- Produce accurate, high-quality precision components to tight tolerances
- Competently set and operate CNC milling machines (3 & 5 Axis)
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings
- Carry out in-process and final quality inspections of own work
- Maximise efficiency while maintaining quality standards
- Use a wide range of measuring equipment accurately
- Maintain, clean, and care for CNC machines and associated equipment
- Comply with ISO 50001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001 standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and quality
Skills and Experience:
- Fully skilled, time-served CNC Setter/Operator (certificates required) with experience operating CNC milling machines (3 & 5 Axis)
- Aerospace manufacturing experience with the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
- Competent using a wide variety of precision measuring equipment
- Computer literate
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow written instructions accurately
- Excellent hand-to-eye coordination with normal colour vision
- Flexible and adaptable to shift patterns
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental responsibilities
What’s On Offer:
- Salary: £17.83 per hour (£36,159.24 per annum) + 33% shift premium for nights
- Day Shift - Monday - Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00 and Friday: 07:30 - 12:30
- Night Shift - Monday - Thursday: 19:30 - 04:30 (30-minute unpaid break) and Friday: 14:30 - 19:30
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
