Overview

Role: Welding Supervisor (Permanent) – On-site in Mildenhall, Suffolk.

Start Date: Immediate Start.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00.

Pay: £37,000 per annum.

Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk.

Contract: Permanent.

This is a hands-on leadership role in a busy manufacturing environment, overseeing daily welding and fabrication operations while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across the shop floor.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily welding and fabrication activities in line with production schedules
  • Allocate work, monitor progress, and resolve any material or workflow issues
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area, supporting 5S and H&S standards
  • Carry out quality checks and ensure compliance with drawings, WPS, and specifications
  • Train and support team members across welding processes and best practices
  • Manage consumables, tools, and equipment, including basic maintenance
  • Liaise with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve processes
  • Support hands-on welding/fabrication when required

Skills & Requirements

  • Previous experience in a welding/fabrication supervisory or senior role
  • Strong knowledge of MIG, TIG, MMA or similar welding processes
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of health & safety and quality standards
  • Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
  • Hands-on, reliable, and able to lead by example
