We are currently recruiting for an experienced Welder Fabricator to join a well-established engineering company based in Birch, near Colchester. This is a full time, permanent opportunity offering long-term stability, varied fabrication work, and the chance to manufacture bespoke steel products. This role would suit a skilled Welder Fabricator with a strong MIG welding background.
About The Role
Working within a busy fabrication workshop, you will be responsible for manufacturing bespoke structural steelwork, architectural metalwork, and general engineering fabrications. As a Welder Fabricator, you will work from technical engineering drawings, fabricating components from raw materials before carrying out high-quality MIG welding to complete each project.
Key Responsibilities
- MIG welding mild steel components to a high standard
- Fabricating bespoke steelwork from technical engineering drawings
- Measuring, marking out, cutting and preparing materials
- Using fabrication machinery, hand tools and power tools
- Drilling, grinding and finishing fabricated components
- Inspecting completed fabrications to ensure quality standards are met
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Welder Fabricator (essential)
- Strong MIG welding and fabrication experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Confident fabricating from raw materials
- Experience using fabrication machinery, hand tools and power tools
Desirable (for Top Salary Bracket)
- Experience fabricating structural or architectural steelwork
- Experience working on bespoke engineering projects
- Overhead crane or forklift experience
- Relevant welding or fabrication qualifications
