Prime Appointments are hiring for a Stores Operative to join a well-established engineering company based in Colchester, Essex on a permanent basis. Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am - 4:45pm; Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming goods, ensuring they meet company quality standards and quantity requirements.
- Maintain accurate stock records and carry out regular stock checks and inventory counts.
- Store and organise goods safely within designated warehouse and storage areas.
- Use the company's warehouse management system to track and manage inventory.
- Report damaged goods, stock discrepancies, or other issues to the management team.
- Pick, pack, and label orders ready for dispatch and distribution.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in a Stores Operative, or similar role within a logistics distribution and supply chain environment.
- The ability to work on your feet for extended periods and carry out manual handling duties.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently using your own initiative, as well as part of a team.
- Basic IT skills and experience using inventory or warehouse management systems.
Hours And Pay:
Monday to Friday (37 hours per week) 8am-4:45pm with a 1pm finish on Friday. A competitive salary depending on experience.
