We're currently recruiting for a Production Line Operative to join a well‑established and growing food manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Colchester. This company specialises in producing high‑quality food products and offers long‑term opportunities, stability, and genuine potential for career progression. This is a temp‑to‑perm opportunity, ideal for someone looking for consistent, ongoing work within a fast‑paced production environment.
Previous factory or production experience is beneficial but not essential – reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Working across different stages of the production line including loading, monitoring, and packing
- Carrying out visual inspections and grading of raw materials
- Maintaining high levels of cleanliness and hygiene at all times
- Following all food safety and production procedures
- Packing and palletising finished products ready for dispatch
- Supporting colleagues and assisting with general production duties as required
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience within manufacturing and production, or an FMCG environment is advantageous
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with shifts
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
- Own transport and ability to commute to the Colchester outskirts location
- Willingness to work weekends and overtime when required
Shift Pattern & Pay
- 4 on / 4 off day shifts (7:00 am – 6:00 pm, slightly reduced hours at weekends)
