An engineering company located on the outskirts of Colchester are recruiting for a Welder / Fabricator to join their growing team.

This will be paying between £14 – £17 per hour, depending on experience. This will lead to a permanent position after the successful 3-month probation period.

What does the role involve?

  • As a Welder / Fabricator, you will be required to MIG weld structural steel, balcony frames, acoustic enclosures, railings plus much more
  • Plate fitting with the thickness of welds between 15 – 20mm
  • Reading from technical drawings
  • Assisting with general workshop duties as required
  • Working closely with the fabrication team & project managers to hit deadlines

Candidate requirements:

  • NVQ, Diploma or Apprenticeship in Welding & Fabrication needed
  • Own transport needed due to the location of the company
  • Ability to be able to read from technical drawings
  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and good problem solving skills required
