Design Manager
Location: Maldon area
Working hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:00am–4:00pm; Friday, 7:00am–1:00pm
Salary: £50,000 – 60,000
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Design Manager / Senior Design Engineer to join their manufacturing team based in the Maldon area. This is a hands-on role combining technical design, project management and production support, taking projects from initial concept through to manufacture and final release.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 3D models, assemblies and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
- Manage projects, timelines, budgets and technical specifications.
- Work closely with production to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and ready for manufacture.
- Coordinate external contractors and provide technical guidance to colleagues.
- Identify design improvements and ensure quality standards are maintained.
About You
- Strong SolidWorks experience is essential.
- Generalist mechanical design engineering background.
- Experience with milled, turned and sheet metal components.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture.
- Project management and contractor coordination experience.
- 3DX and welding knowledge are advantageous, but training can be provided.
Hours & Benefits
- Salary: £50,000 – 60,000
- Monday–Thursday: 7am–4pm, Friday: 7am–1pm. (40 hours per week)
- 22 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.
