Design Engineer in Colchester

A manufacturing client located in Clacton-On-Sea are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer to join their growing team.

This is a permanent position, paying between £35,000 - £38,000 per annum (depending upon experience).

Overview:

As a Design Engineer, you will be required to manage multiple projects from concept through to completion.

Duties:

• You will be required to lead and manage project priorities and deliverables
• Liaise with the engineering, project, buying and manufacturing teams internally, throughout the project lifecycle
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and drawing reviews for junior designers
• Look at continuous improvement methods where possible
• DfMA (Design for Manufacture & Assembly) across all projects
• Develop automated design tool models, whilst also revisiting existing design applications

Candidate requirements:

• Good understanding of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) principles
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor
• Track record in managing multiple projects at once
• Strong decision making and communication skills
• Over 5 years’ experience working as a Design Engineer within a manufacturing or engineering environment
