A market-leading technology-driven design, engineering & manufacturing company in Witham is recruiting an Assistant Buyer to join their team. This is a full-time, temporary to permanent position working Monday-Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm. The salary is £25,000 per annum.
Your key duties in this Assistant Buyer role will include but are not limited to:
- Conduct supplier sourcing negotiations to achieve favourable terms regarding price, lead times, and payment conditions.
- Implement and maintain contracts of supply for goods and services to mitigate risks of operational disruption.
- Liaise with internal teams to plan orders for stock and ensure timely placement of orders with suppliers according to the process.
- Ensure suppliers provide order confirmations within required timescales and delivery information aligns with product requirements.
- Report potential delivery issues that could cause disruption.
- Coordinate with logistics regarding deliveries and collections.
- Ensure purchase orders are communicated to the warehouse team for future deliveries.
- Maintain records of purchase orders and ensure they are matched with delivery notes and invoices.
- Arrange shipments to suppliers and handle goods importation.
- Perform other ad hoc tasks as requested by supervisory or managerial staff.
Skills and Experience required:
- Experience in purchasing and office environment preferred.
