We are looking for an experienced Electrical Protection Engineer to join our growing team in Cheadle (Staffordshire). You will work on a varied portfolio of transmission, distribution, renewable energy and battery energy storage projects across the UK. From early feasibility through to commissioning support, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and project teams to deliver high-quality protection and control solutions that keep the nation's power flowing. Key Responsibilities:
- Produce protection and control designs for HV and EHV substations up to 132kV.
- Prepare protection philosophies, relay requirements, AC/DC schematics and technical specifications.
- Develop protection single-line diagrams, interlocking schemes and control documentation.
- Support the integration of protection, control, SCADA and communication systems.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project delivery.
- Attend technical meetings, design reviews and client workshops.
- Provide engineering support during testing, commissioning and energisation.
- Assist with technical proposals and mentor junior engineers where appropriate.

The Person:
- A Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience designing protection and control systems for HV and EHV substations
- Knowledge of protection schemes for transformers, feeders, busbars and generators
- Experience preparing protection and control documentation
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
