To support staff and learners to effectively utilise digital and technological resources available at the College ensuring outstanding outcomes for students in a caring and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities – General

Be responsible for taking all appropriate measures to safeguard young people and promote their welfare

Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive culture that embeds the College’s values, and ensures that students and staff feel valued, safe, and supported

Presenting a positive, “can do” attitude and taking personal responsibility for own actions

Committed to a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that own contribution to the role and the College is of the highest standard

Represent the College positively and effectively in dealings with external parties

Take responsibility for own continuing professional development as agreed in the appraisal process

Responsible for taking all appropriate measures to safeguard young people and promote their welfare

Contribute to a culture of safety, ensuring risk assessments and safe systems of work are followed at all times

Responsibilities and Accountabilities – Detailed

To provide a 1st and 2nd tier technical support / trouble shooting service, supporting the use of college digital and technology infrastructure(s).

Support and maintain access control, environmental control systems and assistive technology applications. Working with other AT Teacher professionals and Estates team to support solutions to enable learners to access the Curriculum.

Complete minor electronics, network cabling repair work and installation.

Maintain networked door access control system, completing minor repairs and installation of maglocks, door access controls and door operators.

Ensure that workstations (PC/Apple/Android) and peripherals are correctly configured, maintained, ensuring cybersecurity best practise.

Install workstations and assistive technology to meet best practice for ergonomic design and safety.

Manage print and scan technologies, restocking paper, toner and ensuring print management reports are correctly configured.

Ensure digital and technology assets are kept secure, clean and tidy.

Support internal and external events and room bookings by providing presentation/ audio visual technology and on hand technical experience.

Complete formal visual, inspection and test of portable electrical appliances.

Providing guidance, training and induction in the use of technology and safe systems of work for students and staff.

Support extended Curriculum activities by providing technical support for student clubs and performance.

Mentor work experience students.

Be responsible for developing and maintaining skills and knowledge to competently perform own role through research and training as identified during the appraisal process.

Comply with college policies and procedures.

Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by the ICT Engineer.
