The Role
As a Work-Based Coach, you will play a vital role in shaping the careers of apprentices enrolled on:
Level 3 Information Communications Technician (ICT)
Level 4 Network Engineer
You will support learners through coaching, mentoring, progress reviews, and industry-informed guidance — helping them translate theory into workplace performance.
What You Will Do
- Provide 1:1 and group coaching aligned to apprenticeship standards and workplace roles
- Guide apprentices through their learning journey — from onboarding to End Point Assessment (EPA)
- Offer contextualised support to apply learning in real-world scenarios
- Track and report on learner progress and skills development
- Collaborate with employers and delivery teams to ensure impactful outcomes
- Deliver coaching via remote or occasional in-person visits (region-dependent)
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
- Proven industry experience in IT support, networking, or infrastructure (e.g. 1st/2nd/3rd line, network admin/engineer, cybersecurity, service desk)
- Knowledge of technical concepts including hardware, networking, security, cloud services, or troubleshooting
- Experience or strong awareness of AI tools, automation, and agent-based systems in the workplace
- Passion for developing others, with excellent coaching and communication skills
- Strong organisational and documentation skills
Desirable
- Experience in apprenticeships, coaching, or mentoring
- Experience with TP-Link Network equipment
- Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and the EPA process
- Relevant assessor or teaching qualifications (e.g. A1, CAVA, PTLLS, etc.)
- Experience of IT project management
