We are looking to recruit a dedicated and experienced Paramedic to join our friendly and supportive team at Law Medical Group on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a Paramedic who is passionate about delivering high quality, patient centred care within a well established and forward thinking GP practice. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary care team, assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients presenting with a wide range of minor illness and urgent care presentations. The role will play a key part in improving access to clinical services, supporting long term condition management, and contributing to the overall health and wellbeing of the practice population.
Main duties of the job
- The Paramedic will act as a specialist clinical resource, working autonomously within the community to assess, diagnose, treat, refer, or signpost patients presenting with undifferentiated or undiagnosed conditions related to minor illness or injury.
- Collaborating closely with the wider multidisciplinary team, the role involves delivering holistic, patient-centred care, supporting self-care and informed decision-making.
- The post holder will also be required to carry out home visits and must have access to a vehicle, with reasonable travel expenses reimbursed in line with the organisations policy.

The Law Medical Group Practice is a long standing, well established, well respected and well regarded teaching and training practice in NW London, Brent. The practice operates across two sites; Willesden (main site) and Wembley (branch site). The practice has undergone significant changes in the last two years, including a recent merger with another local practice. The practice list is 18,000 patients.
Job responsibilities
- Clinical: Undertake home visits as assessed and when appropriate.
- Assessment and triage of acute presentations including telephone triage.
- Contributing towards the running of a minor illness/injury walk-in service.
- Assisting in the training of frontline staff.
- Make direct referrals to primary, secondary and social services within locally agreed pathways, guidance and protocols.
- ECG and ABPM interpretation.
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation of every patient contact.

- Participate in an annual individual performance review, taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and professional development.
- Undertake professional development as required by the role to ensure that up-to-date evidence-based knowledge and competence in all aspects of the role is maintained.
- Monitor the effectiveness of your clinical practice through quality and assurance strategies such as the use of audit and peer review.
- Adhere to practice policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Diagnosing and treating patients presenting with minor illness.
- Triage and treat patients wishing to see a health care professional, making any necessary referrals to other members of the primary health care team.
- Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective and remains within boundaries of competence, and to acknowledge limitations.
- Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments, with referral to other members of the primary and secondary health care team as necessary.
- Works from the surgery and within communities as an autonomous practitioner caring for patients and families.
- Prescribe/issue medications as appropriate following policy, patient group directives and local pathways.
- To communicate at all levels within the team ensuring service is delivered.
- Ensure evidenced-based care is delivered at the highest standards ensuring delivery of high quality patient care.
- Enhance own performance through Continuous Professional Development, imparting own knowledge to meet the needs of the service.
- To participate in the audit process, evaluation and implementing plans and practice change in order to meet patient need.
Person Specification
- HCPC Registration: Must be a registered Paramedic with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Recognised Paramedic Qualification: BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science, or DipHE in Paramedic Practice.
- Advanced Clinical Assessment Skills: Demonstrated ability to assess, diagnose, and manage patients with minor illness or injury.
- Experience in a Primary Care, Community, or Urgent Care Setting: Previous experience delivering autonomous care outside of the ambulance service is often desirable.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with patients.
- Full UK Driving Licence: Required for home visits and community work.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD): Up-to-date CPD portfolio relevant to scope of practice.
