Chiltern House Medical Centre in High Wycombe is seeking an experienced Medical Coder / Clinical Systems Coder to join their friendly and supportive team. This is a part-time role with flexible shifts, offering a Band 3 salary (or higher depending on experience). The ideal candidate will have strong experience working within a GP practice and must be EMIS-trained, as this is the primary clinical system used at the surgery. You will play an important role in coding clinical information accurately, maintaining high-quality patient records, supporting QOF and reporting processes, and assisting with workflow optimisation across the practice. Main Duties of the Role- Accurately code clinical information, letters, and patient data using Read Codes/SNOMED.
- Review and process hospital correspondence, test results, and medical summaries.
- Support QOF, enhanced services, and reporting requirements by ensuring correct data entry.
- Maintain and update high-quality patient records within EMIS.
- Assist with creating clinical templates and improving workflow processes.
- Liaise with clinicians to resolve coding queries and ensure data accuracy.
- Contribute to audits and data quality improvement across the practice.

Key Responsibilities- Accurately code clinical information and patient data using Read Codes/SNOMED.
- Review, interpret, and code clinical letters, hospital correspondence and test results.
- Ensure compliance with QOF, enhanced services, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate, high-quality patient records.
- Create and maintain clinical templates and workflows.
- Assist with summarising new patient notes.
- Monitor coding accuracy and resolve data issues.
- Liaise with clinicians regarding coding queries.
- Support colleagues with clinical system processes.
- Assist with audits and data quality improvement.
- Previous experience working in a GP practice in a coding or data quality role.
- Strong working knowledge of EMIS clinical system.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret clinical terminology and medical correspondence.
- Good IT skills, including data entry and document handling.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
