We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Salaried General Practitioner (GP) to join the friendly and forward-thinking team at Exmoor Surgery, based in London, W10. This position is for 2 days per week, working Mondays and Tuesdays, with 2 clinical sessions per day (AM & PM), and includes a share of on-call duties. The role offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to work within a supportive, multidisciplinary team that includes nurse practitioners, clinical pharmacists, paramedics, and other allied health professionals.

The Salaried GP will be responsible for delivering high-quality primary care services to patients, including:

  • Conducting face-to-face and telephone consultations
  • Managing long-term conditions
  • Handling acute presentations
  • Carrying out clinical administration such as prescriptions, referrals, and test result reviews

The role also includes participation in on-call duties, supporting clinical audits, contributing to practice development, and collaborating with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless, patient-centred care.

Exmoor Surgery is a well-established NHS primary care practice located within the St Charles Centre for Health & Wellbeing in London (W10). The surgery provides a comprehensive range of primary healthcare services aimed at promoting patient health, preventing illness, and managing long-term conditions. The practice is supported by a multidisciplinary team including GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals.

In accordance with the practice timetable, the GP will work autonomously, delivering care within their scope of practice to the patient population. Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing towards clinical areas such as health promotion, chronic disease management, health prevention, well-women and well-man clinics
  • Supporting the management team in the reviewing of clinical policy and procedure
  • Managing patients presenting with a range of acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Providing subject matter expert advice to patients
  • Identifying, managing and supporting patients at risk of developing long-term conditions
  • Providing advanced, specialist nursing care to patients as required
  • Providing wound care (ulcer/Doppler etc.)
  • Providing specialist clinics such as ear syringing, contraception etc.
  • Undertaking the collection of pathological specimens
  • Providing travel medicine services
  • Requesting pathology services as necessary
  • Processing and interpreting pathology and other test results as required
  • Providing chronic disease clinics, delivering patient care as necessary
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records in conjunction with extant legislation
  • Prioritising health issues and intervening appropriately
  • Recognising, assessing and referring patients presenting with mental health needs
  • Implementing vaccination programmes for adults and children
  • Supporting the clinical team with all safeguarding matters
  • Understanding practice and local policies for substance abuse and addictive behaviour
  • Delivering opportunistic health promotion where appropriate
  • Supporting patients in the use of their prescribed medicines or over-the-counter medicines
  • Participating in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
  • Participating in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach
  • Driving the development of nursing services within the practice
  • Attending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate

Requirements include full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practise and inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List.
