Wickham Market Medical Centre are seeking a salaried GP to join their team for 4 to 8 sessions per week. The successful applicant will be working across our two sites, Wickham Market and Rendlesham Surgery. Duties will include:
- Assessing and treating a broad range of medical conditions
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
- Providing health education
- Managing referrals, prescriptions, and administrative tasks
- Attending and contributing to clinical meetings and audits
- Supporting training for students and GP trainees
- Engaging with PCN and NHS initiatives to improve care
- Maintaining accurate records on SystmOne
- Undertaking occasional home or care home visits
About the Candidate
All applicants should have the following qualifications:
- Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
- Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
- Be on the NHSE medical performers list
and skills, including:
- Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, and primary prevention and screening services
- Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date
- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety
- Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner
About Us
We are a high-performing PMS GP training practice situated in a lovely semi-rural area of coastal Suffolk. We care for 9,900 patients across two sites, with our guiding vision being the desire to provide them with access to the type of general practice we want for ourselves, our families and friends. Our core clinical team consists of 4 GP partners, 1 salaried GP, 2 nurse practitioners, a paramedic, 3 practice nurses, 1 nursing associate & 2 HCAs. Via our PCN, we are also supported by another paramedic, first contact physiotherapists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, social prescribers, mental health nurses & patient care coordinators. We embrace innovative IT solutions, using AI for note-taking and coding. We have excellent support from our practice manager and the administrative team, hence the practice’s ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating for leadership (‘Good’ overall). For 20 years, we have held an Investors in People bronze award. We would be happy to support doctors who want to pursue further clinical or non-clinical interests. As a member of the Suffolk GP Federation, we have access to the full range of GP support services they provide, including the Suffolk First5 scheme for doctors new to general practice.
