Swanwood Partnership are on the lookout for a capable and confident practice nurse to join our primary care team. This position is offered on a part-time basis, working between 24–28 hours per week.
We need someone who's ready to hit the ground running, so you must be experienced in the full scope of general practice nursing duties. You will be expected to provide a wide range of practice nurse services with confidence and autonomy, including but not limited to:
- Chronic disease management (Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, etc.)
- Cervical cytology
- Childhood and adult immunisations
- Travel health advice and vaccinations
- Contraceptive advice and support
- NHS Health Checks
- Infection control
- Health promotion
- Support for QOF and enhanced services
About the Candidate
All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills and experience:
- A relevant nursing degree.
- Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
- Competence to undertake asthma, COPD and diabetic clinics and reviews, holding relevant certificates.
- Evidence of clinical skills and experience in treatment room consultation, phlebotomy, ECG recording, screening, management of long-term conditions, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations and immunisations, assisting with minor surgery, dressing and wound care, and recording spirometry.
- Compassionate manner with an empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work.
The successful candidate will value the dignity of our patients, their relatives and carers, as well as their colleagues at the practice. Someone who takes initiative and doesn't need their hand held. Knowledge, and experience of its application, in supporting long-term conditions. Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the wider NHS.
