Tiptree Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic Practitioner to join our practice on a part-time basis for 25 hours per week. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled clinician who is passionate about delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will work autonomously within primary care, assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing patients presenting with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
- Urgently respond to referrals and provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment at first point of contact by attending to patients, according to patients’ needs either in the practice or patient homes.
- Support, and continue the development of, an on-the-day emergency patient service in the practice.
- Accurately triage and prioritise patients, including in both face to face and telephone triage, demonstrating the use of a variety of techniques to elicit the history of an event/illness, including past medical and drug history.
- Evaluate clinical information from examination and history taking, and initiate appropriate treatment and/or referral.
- Review the effectiveness of the treatment provided, making changes where necessary to improve patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in an efficient manner.

About the Candidate
You will demonstrate advanced clinical decision-making skills, professionalism, and a strong commitment to continuous professional development. Applicants must:
- Be registered with the HCPC as a Paramedic.
- Hold an independent prescribing qualification.
- Have substantial experience working within primary care settings.
- Hold a Level 7 qualification in Clinical Assessment / Advanced Clinical Practice.
- Demonstrate evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
- Show a high standard of professionalism, clinical governance, and patient-centred care.
- Be confident working independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Possess excellent communication and clinical reasoning skills.

We are a friendly, busy and innovative GMS practice for approximately 12,000 patients in north-east Essex where work-life balance is not just a buzzword. The team comprise of two friendly, supportive partners and 7 salaried GPs. We have an excellent nursing team with specialist skills in diabetes, asthma and COPD, 4 Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), 3 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs, 1 Associate practitioner, 2 Clinical Pharmacists and 1 Pharmacy Technician. We pride ourselves on being relaxed, family-friendly and flexible working patterns. We do not have any nursing home commitments and have a wonderful NP who manages our patients’ palliative care needs and home visits. We have active interests in minor surgery, women’s health, mental health and pride ourselves at delivering excellent CPD. We use ANIMA total triage, embracing new ways of working whilst striving to maintain the family doctor traditions.
