Ivry Street Medical Practice, in Ipswich, is looking to welcome a paramedic or ANP/ACP to join our team. This role can be offered on a full or part‑time basis as we can be flexible to hours worked.
Main duties of the job
- Assess and triage patients, including same day triage, and as appropriate provide definitive treatment or make necessary referrals to other members of the primary or secondary care team.
- Advise patients on general healthcare and promote self‑management where appropriate, including signposting patients to the social prescribing service, and where appropriate, other community or voluntary services.
- Perform specialist health checks and reviews within your scope of practice and in line with local and national guidance.
- Perform investigatory procedures as required.
- Perform and interpret ECGs.
- Undertake the collection of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, and other samples within your scope of practice, and within line of local and national guidance.
- Support the delivery of anticipatory care plans and lead certain services (e.g. monitoring blood pressure and diabetes risk of elderly patients).
- Provide an alternative model to urgent and same day GP home visits.
- Communicate proactively and effectively with all colleagues across the team, attending and contributing to meetings as required.

We also have regular mental health team support, with a presence on site almost daily and medicine management team. Currently rated 'Good' by the CQC. We use SystmOne for our clinical system, and also utilise various digital platforms such as Accurx to support our processes. Person Specification
To be considered, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Registered nurse or paramedic with current NMC/HCPC registration
- MSc in Advanced Clinical practice studies and clinical assessment
- Extended/independent and supplementary nurse prescriber
- Demonstrable experience working autonomously in a primary care or equivalent setting
- Management of minor illness, minor ailments and injuries
- Experience of undertaken clinical audits
- Competent non‑medical prescriber
- Perform venepuncture
- Undertake routine screening (cytology, swabs)
- Vaccinations and immunisations
- Experience with minor surgery
- Teaching and assessing qualification
- Clinical supervision training and experience
