Southend Medical Centre is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and forward-thinking General Practitioner to join our dedicated and progressive team on a fixed-term salaried basis.
This role is offered on 4 sessions per week, from 1st August 2026 to 31st March 2027.

As a Salaried GP, you will work as part of our multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care to our registered population.
Key responsibilities will include
- Delivering routine and urgent GP consultations via face-to-face and telephone appointments.
- Managing patient care through our established online consultation systems and digital workflows.
- Prescribing safely in accordance with local and national guidelines.
- Managing clinical workflow and administrative responsibilities, including:
- Reviewing and actioning correspondence
- Processing pathology and investigation results
- Managing clinical tasks
- Making appropriate referrals in line with best clinical practice and local pathway
- Reviewing and signing repeat prescriptions within allocated administration time.
- Working collaboratively with health and social care professionals to deliver integrated patient care.
- Maintaining accurate, comprehensive consultation records using Systm One.
- Supporting colleagues and contributing to the achievement of practice objectives, including quality improvement initiatives, QOF, and clinical governance activities

- Full GMC registration and license to practice.
- Eligibility to work as a GP within UK General Practice.
- Ability to provide safe, evidence-based and person-centered care.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in managing acute, chronic, urgent, and complex presentations.
- Confidence in interpreting investigations, inc. laboratory and radiology results.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Commitment to maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
- Knowledge of and adherence to professional standards, safeguarding, confidentiality, data protection, infection prevention, and clinical governance requirements.
