The Colne Practice, located in Rickmansworth, are seeking a qualified clinical pharmacist to join the team for three days per week. Ideal working days will be Monday to Wednesday (negotiable) working 9am to 5pm.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Clinically assessing and treating patients
- Providing clinical advice and expertise on medication
- Providing specialist expertise in the use of medicines and medicine information (e.g. side-effects, dosage)
- Providing pharmaceutical medication review and health education advice to patients, by face-to-face, telephone or notes-based review, as agreed with the practice
- Ability to plan, manage, monitor, advise and review general care plans for patients with long-term conditions
- Contributing to public health campaigns, including flu vaccinations, childhood immunisation and adult immunisation programmes
- Processing specialist treatment and hospital medication discharge letters
- Monitoring patients with respiratory conditions
- Establishing ongoing professional relationships with individual patients
About the Candidate
You will be a qualified pharmacist with strong experience within primary care and have the following skills and qualifications:
- Completion of a degree in pharmacy and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Qualified independent prescriber
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
- Aware of the breadth of common acute and long-term conditions that are likely to be seen in a general medical practice
- Demonstrate general pharmaceutical skills and knowledge in core areas

The Colne Practice is a friendly GP practice with a list size of approximately 10,500 patients. Our team comprises 7 GP partners, 2 practice nurses, 1 HCA, 2 clinical pharmacists and reception and admin teams. We have on site staff parking.
