This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive receptionist/administrator to join our team based at Riverside Health Centre in Manningtree. This is a bank role to help cover annual leave, sickness, and staff training within our reception and administration team. The role is fully onsite, and our opening hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:30. The successful candidate will be flexible with their availability to support service needs.

Main duties of the job Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting patients and visitors
  • Care navigation and signposting patients to the appropriate service or clinician
  • Answering queries from patients and external agencies
  • Supporting patients with the online triage system
  • Updating patient records accurately
  • Processing electronic and paper correspondence
  • Liaising with patients using a variety of communication methods

About us Riverside Health Centre cares for approximately 6,500 patients. Care is provided by three GP partners, one salaried GP, one nurse practitioner, one paramedic, two practice nurses, and two healthcare assistants. We are a close-knit and supportive team who work collaboratively to provide the best possible care to our diverse patient population. We work closely with four local practices, as part of the Stour Estuary Primary Care Network (PCN).

Person Specification To be considered for the position, you will require the following:

  • Good IT knowledge and confidence using computer-based systems are essential.
  • Ideally experience working within a busy reception or customer-facing environment
  • A good standard of education, including Maths and English, along with experience working in a customer service role
  • Previous reception experience is desirable, and experience within primary care would be beneficial, although this is not essential
  • Experience using SystmOne would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided for the right candidate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a friendly, caring, and positive approach towards patients and colleagues
