We are looking for an experienced Phlebotomist who will report to the Nurse Manager to deliver an efficient service to the clinic's patients and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position is offered on a part-time basis for 20-25 per week.

It should be noted that phlebotomists may be required to treat patients at all three of the practice’s sites, Hethersett, Cringleford and Mulbarton Surgeries as and when required The post holder will be required to be flexible. Post holders must have appropriate qualifications to fulfil the duties of their role.

The post holder will provide high quality phlebotomy services to patients registered with the practice. They will be based in the practice, but will work as part of the integrated primary/community health care team, liaising with general practitioners, and other professionals.

The main duties include:
  • Taking blood daily
  • Ensure the highest standards of infection Prevention Control are maintained
  • Maintain practice policies and procedures
  • Ensure that our patient journey is amongst the very best
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality in respect of patient records
  • Taking personal responsibility for team building and maintaining staff motivation

Essential skills include:

  • Phlebotomy experience using vacutainer system for blood collection
  • High-level of English and numeracy skills
  • Competent and confident IT skills - Word, Excel and email
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan & organise effectively
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Excellent team player
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Flexibility to work later hours on occasion according to the needs of the patient
  • SystmOne experience desirable
