Are you looking for a rewarding role where no two days are the same and your work genuinely makes a difference? Woodview Medical Centre is seeking two full-time enthusiastic and reliable care navigators to join our friendly, fast-paced GP practice. We would also consider part-time/job share so please apply stating the hours you are available to work.
You will be at the heart of the surgery, delivering excellent patient care and customer service while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. This is a varied role that combines reception, care navigation, appointments management and administrative duties.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Greeting patients and visitors to the practice
- Answering and directing telephone calls
- Care navigating and signposting to the relevant team member and making appointments
- Answering patient queries both over the telephone and face to face
- Ensuring same day appointments are booked into appropriate slots in line with practice procedures
- Checking emails on a daily basis
- A variety of admin duties
The role requires flexibility, with shifts available Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 18:30, and participation in a Saturday morning rota when required (i.e. for flu clinics).
We are looking for someone who is calm under pressure, enjoys working with people, and thrives in a busy environment. Essential qualities and skills include:
- Experience working with the general public and in an administrative or receptionist role
- Excellent communication skills with a clear, polite telephone manner
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A professional, cheerful and empathetic approach, particularly in sensitive situations
- Flexibility, motivation and a forward-thinking mindset
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience working in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of SystmOne
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- AMSPAR Receptionist qualification or NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required for this role.
