The predicted salary is between 12 - 15 Β£ per hour.

Oakfield Surgery is looking to recruit an enthusiastic care navigator to work with the current team on a part-time basis for 18 hours per week. The set working hours for this role are: Monday 8am - 5pm and Friday 8am to 6.30pm.

Duties will include:

  • Ensure visitors receive prompt, courteous and effective support
  • Manage reception and telephone enquiries
  • Take accurate messages
  • Guide patients through the booking system
  • Collect essential information for their consultations
  • Ensure the reception environment is organised
  • Scanning, filing, mailing and record keeping
  • Assisting with new patients registrations
  • Advise patients of relevant charges for private services
  • Enter patient information onto the computer as required

Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues. All applicants should ensure that they live within reasonable commuting distance.

To be considered for the position, you will have the following:

Essential:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Polite and professional telephone manner
  • Sensitivity to confidentiality issues and data protection
  • Ability to work on initiative and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work well with the members of the public
  • Ability to work flexibly and to cover colleagues holiday/sickness periods

Desirable:

  • SystmOne/AskmyGP/general IT skills
  • Understanding of primary care
