This is a varied role, with part of your week working as a Duty Clinician alongside our Duty Doctor and wider clinical team. You will be part of the team helping to triage, assess and manage acute patients, making clinical decisions and supporting the smooth running of the day.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, is confident assessing acute presentations and is happy to share their clinical knowledge and experience with colleagues.
There will also be opportunities to see and manage patients with long-term conditions. Experience or an interest in long-term condition management is essential.
Responsibilities will include:
- Working alongside the Duty Doctor as part of the Duty Clinician team.
- Helping to triage and assess acute patient presentations.
- Seeing patients face-to-face or by telephone where appropriate.
- Supporting the wider clinical team with advice and clinical decision-making.
- Managing and reviewing patients with long-term conditions.
- Supporting colleagues through sharing knowledge, advice and training.
- Working with our GPs and wider team to provide safe, effective and patient-centred care.
About the Candidate
We're looking for someone who is:
- A qualified Nurse Practitioner with current NMC registration.
- An independent prescriber.
- Confident assessing and managing acute presentations.
- Experienced in managing long-term conditions.
- A good team player who enjoys working collaboratively.
- Adaptable, approachable and committed to providing excellent patient care.
About Us
We also value teamwork and believe in supporting our clinicians to do their best work. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, likes working collaboratively and wants to be part of a team rather than working in isolation.
We are proud to be a training practice, supporting Cambridge medical students and GP Registrars throughout their placements. You will be part of our wider clinical team, helping to inspire and support the next generation of healthcare professionals.
