The Colne Practice in Rickmansworth has a great opportunity for two receptionists / administrators to join our team on a part‑time basis. We are flexible to how the week is divided between both applicants but hours to be covered are 8am to 6.30pm. We are open to one working 3 days and the other 2 days or 2.5 days each.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Greeting and directing all patients.
  • Answering calls.
  • Making appointments and dealing with enquiries.
  • Dealing with requests for information and referring patients to the correct service.
  • Advising patients of practice procedures.
  • Registering new patients.
  • Back office administration including: scanning, coding and managing registrations.

About the Candidate

We are looking for a receptionist to join our busy practice team and help make a positive impact on our local community. We would welcome applications from organised, adaptable and friendly individuals who are keen to help us provide high levels of customer service and have the following attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills with a clear and polite telephone manner;
  • Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner respecting patients at all times;
  • Experience of working with the general public being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations;
  • Confidence to work as part of a team and ability to think on your feet;
  • Strong IT and administration skills;
  • Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.

Some flexibility is required as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.

About Us

The Colne Practice is a friendly GP practice with a list size of approximately 10,500 patients. Our team comprises 7 GP partners, 2 practice nurses, 1 HCA, 2 clinical pharmacists and reception and admin teams. We have on site staff parking.
