Vida Healthcare has an exciting opportunity for a reliable and hardworking medical secretary to join our team on a part‑time basis for 25 hours per week. This is an essential front‑line role at the practice, providing an efficient, comprehensive secretarial and administrative support service to the practice management team. The successful applicant must be able to travel to geographical locations within the locality.
Main duties of the job:
- Create and/or fill in referral templates.
- Audio type from the digital dictation system for GPs.
- Prioritising letters within 24 hours and deliver routine work within a week of it being requested.
- Administer GP patient referrals through the e‑referral system.
- Complete medical examiner referrals and coroner reports as necessary.
- Provide an administrative service, such as waiting list management, dictations, patient record creation and appointment booking for AITS, cataract, LARCS, and dermatology services.
- Provide telephone and face to face access for patients to discuss referrals.
- Support patients who may have a problem and offer viable solutions to them.
- Update medical records as required and be able to read code as needed.
- Collate e‑referral information for reporting purposes.
- Provide support to multidisciplinary team meetings by compiling agendas, invitations, taking minutes, maintaining patient lists and putting meeting dates on the practice calendar.

Experience:
- Experience of dealing with customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum 2 GCSEs in Mathematics and English or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products such as Office.
- Up to date awareness of the NHS.
