- Urgently respond to referrals and provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment at first point of contact by attending to patients, according to patients’ needs either in the practice or patient homes.
- Visit housebound and care home patients and complete care home ward rounds.
- Support, and continue the development of, an on-the-day emergency patient service in the practice.
- Accurately triage and prioritise patients, including in both emergency situations and telephone triage, demonstrating the use of a variety of techniques to elicit the history of an event/illness, including past medical and drug history.
- Evaluate clinical information from examination and history taking, and initiate appropriate treatment and/or referral.
- Review the effectiveness of the treatment provided, making changes where necessary to improve patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in an efficient manner.
About the Candidate
- Be a registered paramedic, with current HCPC registration
- Previous primary care experience essential
- Has completed their two-year ‘Consolidation of Learning’ period as a “newly qualified paramedic”
- Has a further three years’ experience as a band 6 (or equivalent) paramedic
- Prescribing qualification desirable

Bildeston Health Centre is a friendly, medium sized, rural dispensing practice. We are CQC rated GOOD and score very highly on the Patient Experience survey. We have a growing list size of 7,600+ patients with two GP partners. We currently have 2 practices nurses, 2 HCAs, and a very supportive care navigation and admin team.
We are active members of the South Rural PCN who provide us with a practice paramedic and clinical pharmacist.
