Suffolk GP Federation are looking for a PCN manager to join our Haverhill PCN which covers Haverhill, Glemsford, Long Melford and Lavenham and incorporates Haverhill Family Practice and Unity Healthcare as the surgeries in the PCN. This position is offered on a permanent part time basis as follows: 24 hours across a minimum of three days to include Wednesday and Thursday. We are flexible on the additional day and the structure of working hours provided the key meetings are covered on the set days (these are between 10am-2pm).
What is the role?
- You will be expert in primary care finance, DES contracts, managing activity, claims and contract management to maximum income.
- Support to the clinical director in essential system meetings, acting as an information flow to both practices.
- Operate in partnership within our INTs, MDTs, and across the system with health, social care and voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations to foster strong bonds and working relationships.
- You will act as project manager on new and existing initiatives to set out strong plans, record progress, deliver superb reporting on performance and quality development reviews.
- Form an integral part of the leadership team alongside the clinical director, directors, partners and senior clinicians who form the Haverhill PCN Board to develop the PCN.
- Supervise, train, coach and develop individuals in the PCN to perform well, maintaining training records and supervision requirements.
- You’ll join our PCN and work in our practices with the leadership teams to develop the strongest PCN offer to develop and improve population health across Haverhill, Long Melford, Lavenham and Glemsford.

It is important to us that you feel safe and supported in the role. You will succeed in this role if you have first class experience and knowledge of primary care finance in the Network DES flow of income. You will enjoy the pace of Primary Care and are able to work in a busy, ever-changing environment. As a result, you will need to be well organised and comfortable receiving and cascading a high volume of information flow. You will be suitable for this position if you are able to establish good working relationships, with clear communication channels, and work well in partnership in local communities at a strategic level. It is essential to have previous experience of dealing with patients in a healthcare setting. You will be either qualified to Degree Level or be able to demonstrate similar analytical and strategic thinking within your background.
