Are you looking for a great work/life balance in a coastal location? The Holbrook and Shotley Practice is looking for a salaried GP to join their busy, stable practice, covering up to 8 sessions per week.

Duties will include:

  • Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group.
  • The role will include all general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care, as well as:
    • Undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion;
    • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation;
    • Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems;
    • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness;
    • Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols;
    • Providing health education;
    • Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards;
    • Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements;
    • Delivering enhanced services;
    • Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Professional registration with relevant professional body: NMC, HCPC or GPhC;
  • Post-graduate qualification in specific speciality, or equivalent experience;
  • Post-registration experience at a senior level (Band 7 or above) in specialty area;
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD;
  • Advanced clinical assessment skills;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to perform in stressful and complex situations;
  • Sound clinical reasoning & decision making;
  • Flexibility;
  • Ability to inspire and lead a team.

The Holbrook and Shotley Practice is a GP Practice across two surgery sites. We pride ourselves on providing a high standard of care to our 8000 patients. Our practice team comprises of three GP Partners, two salaried GPs, supported by a highly experienced team of nurses, dispensers, paramedics, and reception team.
