The Elizabeth Courtauld Surgery has an exciting opportunity for a healthcare assistant to join our diverse and multi-skilled professional team to provide high quality person-centred, holistic nursing care to patients. This post is available for 37.5 hours per week, over five days (weekdays only). Part-time applications will be considered for the right candidate. The successful candidate will join a practice that takes pride in its can-do attitude and forward-thinking. You will work within what can be a busy, often demanding, but highly rewarding environment with an experienced and welcoming team.
Main duties of the job:
- Wound care
- Vaccinations (seasonal flu and pneumovax)
- Injections in line with PSD and practice guidelines
- ECGs/BPs
- Health monitoring and management
- Assisting with minor surgery clinics
- Experience with chronic disease management (qualified or willingness to undertake training)

Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing or an approved nursing qualification.
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Current professional registration and eligibility to practice in the UK.
- Non-medical prescribing qualification (level 6 or 7) for health care professionals.
- Additional qualifications in areas such as immunisation, wound care, or long-term condition management.
Experience:
- Experience working in general practice or a primary care setting.
- Excellent knowledge of core nursing practice and patient care principles.
- Skilled in managing long-term conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, hypertension).
- Experience providing immunisations, health checks, and routine treatment room procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to manage own workload and work autonomously under supervision.
- Empathy, sensitivity, and professionalism in patient care.
- Specialism in areas such as, but not limited to, respiratory, cardiovascular, diabetes.
- Experience with health promotion, patient education, and chronic disease management programs.
