Tendring PCN has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, enthusiastic and innovative pharmacy technician to join our primary care network. You will be based at Great Bentley Surgery, but may be required to travel between all of the GP practices within our PCN. This role is offered on a part-time basis, for 24 hours per week, with the working pattern to be agreed with management.
Responsibilities:
- Developing our prescribing systems to ensure safe, effective and efficient prescribing within the PCN.
- Supporting the reception and administration teams, at our member practices, with complex medication queries.
- Supporting the GP partners on prescribing projects and cost/safety audits and actions.
- Managing patient prescriptions.
- Supporting medication reviews and reconciliations.
- Advising patients and healthcare professionals on medication-related queries.
- Minimising medication wastage.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing alongside the practice. They will support and be responsible for areas of medicines optimisation and delivery of excellent management of medications to ensure high quality, safe and efficient patient care in general practice.
About the network:
Tendring Primary Care Network has an exciting new opportunity for a highly motivated and proactive Pharmacy Technician to support in enhancing patient care within our local community. Our network is located on the North East Essex Coast and comprises 3 GP practices: Mayflower Medical Centre, St James Surgery & Great Bentley Surgery. It has an approximate patient population of 50,000 and it strives on bringing together local health care and resources to deliver high quality, evidence-based and integrated care to all their patients.
