Ranworth Medical Group is seeking a Finance Assistant to support the management in all aspects of practice finances, optimising efficiency and financial performance, ensuring the organisation achieves its long-term strategic objectives. This role is offered on a part-time basis for 22-24 hours per week. We can offer hybrid working, home and office based.

As this role will have access to a higher level of confidential data in the course of their employment, there is an expectation that the post holder will always maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity. Sensitive information could be from either internal sources, or from external partner organisations.

Duties will include:

  • Review all income and expenditure statements, identifying any inaccuracies and rectifying such issues, informing management as required.
  • Ensure invoices are paid within the given time frame.
  • Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality due to the nature of the role and with being exposed to a greater level of confidential material and data.
  • Maintain an effective system for the handling of petty cash and cheques.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate ledger coding for payroll.
  • Ensure the presentation of monthly financial reports is of a high standard.
  • Present financial forecasts to partners as and when required.
  • Ensure that effective financial controls are in place and processes are adhered to.
  • Understand and brief the management team on financial implications of contract and legislation changes affecting the organisation.

  • An experienced administrator, with excellent IT, time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, working in a confidential and discreet manner.
  • Ability to multi-task, work efficiently and maintain a high level of attention to detail, when under pressure.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as independently.
  • Primary care experience is desirable but not essential.

Some flexibility is required as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues. All applicants should ensure that they live within reasonable commuting distance.

Ranworth Medical Group is comprised of Caradoc Surgery, Ranworth Surgery in Clacton-on-Sea, Green Elms Health Centre in Jaywick and Kennedy Way Medical Centre in Holland on Sea. We have a diverse patient population, of around 32,000 and all practices work on SystmOne.
