The predicted salary is between 60000 - 84000 ÂŁ per year.
Sidney House & The Laurels Surgery is looking for a salaried GP or GP partner to join our practice providing six clinical sessions per week. The role includes proportionate participation in an on-call rota with the other GPs as well as one hour per week of extended access telephone appointments on a Monday (with the option to carry out remotely). Candidates are asked to state in their application whether they are interested in a salaried or partnership role. Working as part of our multidisciplinary team you will support and care for a diverse patient group.
The role will include all general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care as well as:
- Undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion;
- Making professional autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems whether self‑referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation;
- Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems;
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness;
- Developing care plans for health consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols;
- Providing health education;
- Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards;
- Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements;
- Delivering enhanced services;
- Compiling and issuing computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions;
- Participating in professional meetings throughout the year as required;
- All general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Informal visits to the practice can be arranged with the practice manager by appointment.
About the Candidate
All applicants should have the following qualifications:
- Fully qualified GP with GMC registration;
- Annual appraisal and revalidation;
- Be on the NHSE medical performers list.
We are not able to offer visa sponsorship at present. Applicants will need the following skills and attributes:
- Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management and primary prevention and screening services;
- Ability to take responsibility for your own career development learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date;
- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety;
- Commitment to life‑long learning and audit to ensure evidence‑based best practice;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.
About Us
We are a two-site training practice based in the semi‑rural villages of Hatfield Peverel and Boreham serving a patient population of 11,400. Our staff are required to work over both of our surgery locations. Our team is made up of three GP Partners, five salaried GPs, a Paramedic Practitioner, a Nurse Prescriber, three Practice Nurses, two HCAs and a Phlebotomist. We are further supported by PCN staff including a Pharmacist, Physiotherapist and Social Prescriber. Additionally, we have a well-established non‑clinical team of managers, administrators, dispensers and receptionists.
SystmOne AccuRx - although we are not currently using a total‑triage model. Ardens Low home‑visiting requirements. Consistently high QOF achievement. CQC rated Good. Part of the Aegros PCN with Lt. Waltham & Great Notley Surgery, Douglas Grove Surgery and the Beacon Health Group.
