We are seeking a candidate to join our team in a full-time Dispensary role, working 37.5 hours per week Tuesday to Friday on a 6 month fixed-term contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing all relevant prescriptions and repeat prescriptions, as authorised by GPs and prescribing nurses, where appropriate, in accordance with the good practice principles of the Dispensing Services Quality Scheme;
- Ensuring that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription and whenever there is doubt about the appropriateness of the item, or about the dose or labelling instructions, to check with the authorising doctor or duty doctor;
- Collecting all due prescription charges and ensuring that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient;
- Processing dossette boxes;
- Managing the ordering of stock and stock control;
- Preparation of monthly returns to the Prescription Pricing Bureau;
- Monitoring patients exemption statuses;
- Sorting and disposing of unwanted/returned medication;
- Any other duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the dispensary and surgery, as directed by the either the dispensary manager or practice manager.

We are a highly reputable, friendly and supportive semi-rural, dispensing, research and GP training practice operating in north Norfolk within the village of Hoveton/Wroxham, 6-miles to the north east of the fine city of Norwich. We have a growing list size of approximately 10,000 patients. We are also a member of the NN4 Primary Care Network, working closely with 5 other local practices.
From 2025, Hoveton and Wroxham Medical Centre will be managing primary care services at the new Magna Medical Centre in Rackheath.
