Vida Healthcare are seeking an experienced Prescribing Clerk to join their busy team on a part‑time basis for 16 hours per week, working afternoons only, Monday to Thursday (1pm‑5pm). You will be required to work onsite and across our other sites in Dersingham, Kings Lynn and Huntstanthor. Candidates must be able to cover extra hours, annual leave and sickness on short notice.

Main duties of the job:

  • Searching and processing repeat prescription requests and queries regarding requests for acute medications.
  • Identifying specials and high quantities on prescriptions.
  • Seeking alternative medications for unavailable/shortages/discontinuations, etc.
  • Switching medications to the most cost‑effective brands in line with local and national Medicines Optimisation Policies.
  • Monitoring and reviewing prescribing of OTC and low value medications.
  • Carry out medicines reconciliation for complex hospital discharges and patients with multiple medication changes.
  • Implement response to MHRA safety alerts where appropriate.
  • Identifying new dispensing patients.
  • Identifying medication review patients.
  • Supporting with prescribing/dispensing policies and SOPs.
  • Supporting the care homes with medication queries, ordering processes and medicines waste.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working within a similar position.
  • Healthcare experience with knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage.
  • Be aware of information governance standards and policies.
  • Be flexible, with a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate an excellent standard of patient care.
