- Diagnosing and treating patients with acute medical conditions, minor illness and mental health problems, including a mix of face to face and telephone consultations. Patients presenting via triage, prebooked appointments or care home.
- Ensuring clinical practice is safe and effective and working within boundaries of competence.
- Prescribe within competencies to our patients keeping in line with the national and local formulary.
- Initiating and arranging appropriate investigations and referrals to other members of the primary and secondary health care teams as clinically indicated.
- Participating in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the practice team including clinical audit.
- Ensuring the clinical record is completed and maintained with accurate and contemporaneous details recorded.
- Participating in the education and training of students of all disciplines and the induction of all members of the practice staff where appropriate.
- Actively participate in clinical and whole-team meetings, as this promotes information sharing, supports effective communication and helps maintain positive and professional working relationships within the workplace.
About the Candidate
- Professional registration with the NMC
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to liaise effectively with the clinical and administrative staff within the practice and partnership
- An ability to demonstrate innovation and awareness of future opportunities and challenges would be desirable to help meet the current and future challenges of primary care, and to help us promote a rewarding environment for staff as well as ensuring excellent patient care
- An independent prescribing qualification
- Childhood, adult and travel immunisation preferable, but not essential
