Angel Hill Surgery in Bury St Edmund's has an exciting opportunity for a medical secretary to join our team on a part-time basis, for 16 hours per week. In this essential role at the practice, you will:
- Complete Subject Access Requests (SARs) and medical insurance reports using a system called iGPR.
- Attend meetings regularly and work within a busy secretarial office.
- Audio type using both the word processing system in SystmOne and Microsoft Word.
- Type all doctor correspondence.
- Use the NHS Electronic Referral System (ERS).
- Maintain Insurance Medical Reports to current regulations.
- Keep patients/companies informed on progress of medical reports.
- Process and distribute electronic reports.
- Process and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence via NHS Mail.
- Type any other practice correspondence.
- Order stationery supplies.
- Ensure all secretarial equipment is maintained.
- Attend and take record of meetings.
- Liaise with other health professionals when required.
- Participate in staff meetings and attend the Head of Departments meetings/Team meetings, MDT meeting and Safeguarding meetings when required.
- Be aware of and act in accordance with Health & Safety and Fire Regulations of the practice.
- Keep your training up to date via Clarity Teamnet.
- Complete e-learning annually.
- Perform any other task requested by the practice manager/business manager or partner to ensure a smooth running of the surgery.
- Attend and participate in team meetings with the practice manager.
- Be conversant with and act in accordance with fire drills and precautions in the working area.
- Adhere to all practice policies.
- Be aware of and act in accordance with the surgery Health and Safety Policy.
