Angel Hill Surgery in Bury St Edmunds has an exciting opportunity for a medical administrator to join our team on a part-time basis, for 22.5 hours per week. In this essential role at the practice, you will complete Subject Access Requests (SARs) and medical insurance reports using a system called iGPR, attend meetings regularly and work within a busy secretarial office.

Main duties of the job:

  • Maintaining insurance medical reports within current regulations
  • Processing all SARS requests within the surgery
  • Attend Adult and Child Safeguarding Multidisciplinary meetings which are held monthly
  • Take minutes from meetings
  • Respond to emails
  • Maintain safeguarding admin lead role
  • Send MARF and MASH referrals when required
  • Complete e-learning annually
  • Any other task requested by the practice manager/business manager or partner to ensure a smooth running of the surgery
  • Attend and participate in team meetings with the practice manager
  • To be conversant with and act in accordance with fire drills and precautions in the working area
  • Adhere to all practice policies
  • To be aware of and act in accordance with the surgery Health and Safety Policy.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner.
  • Confidence to work as part of a team and ability to "think on your feet".
  • Strong IT and administration skills.
  • Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional hours to cover for colleagues.
  • Previous medical or healthcare Medical Administrator experience is desirable.
