Tile House Surgery is looking for a like-minded salaried GP to join our busy, well-established practice for 4-6 sessions a week with working days and start/finish times negotiable (to include a Tuesday and Friday). Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Undertaking a variety of duties including face-to-face consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports, test results and correspondence in a timely fashion;
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation;
- Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems;
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness;
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols;
- Providing health education;
- Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards;
- Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements;
- Delivering enhanced services;
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions;
- All general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
About the Candidate
You will have the following qualifications:
- Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
- Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
- Be on the NHSE medical performers list
And skills, including:
- Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management and primary prevention & screening services
- Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date
- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety
- Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills in a confidential manner
About Us
We are a large training practice serving a patient population of 13,200. We are located in Brentwood town-centre with easy access from the M25 and A12. We operate a TPP/SystmOne clinical system and have a history of high QOF achievement and a CQC rating of Good across all domains. As an enthusiastic training practice, we have 2-3 GP registrars who are part of our team and we are actively involved in teaching medical students over the course of the year. We are supported by a full complement of Practice Nurses and HCAs, who provide excellent nursing care and chronic disease management for our patients, plus a paramedic and an advanced nurse practitioner who deal with our on-the-day demand, also a Physician’s Assistant and two in-house Clinical Pharmacists. We also benefit from a full team of additional practitioners who provide appointments for our patients including a young person’s Mental Health Practitioner, adult Mental Health Practitioners and a Physiotherapist. Home visits are allocated to our local Home Visiting Service who visit patients on our behalf. We offer predominantly a mixture of face-to-face and telephone appointments every day plus pre-bookable appointments. We are supported by a capable admin team who implement streamlined workflow processes to minimise the amount of clinician admin. We value the hard work provided by all members of our team and aim to provide a supportive environment for anyone looking to join us. We have a low turnover of doctors and are always keen to learn and implement new ideas for the benefit of our practice.
