Blyth's Meadow Surgery is looking for a Prescription Clerk to join the team on a part-time basis, working 30 hours a week.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
  • Ensuring that requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned within 5 working days. This includes checking email requests, online, paper and phone.
  • Responding to all queries and requests from chemists, nursing homes and district nurses, regarding the issue of prescriptions.
  • Keeping repeat prescription information up-to-date in the patient journal, such as letters and doctors' requests.
  • Medicine management – liaising and discussing any enquires or queries raised by the clinical team.
  • General ad hoc administration work.
  • Flexibility to cover other areas when required – multi-skill mix.
  • Keep up-to-date with all prescribing guidelines and protocols, relevant to the position.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will:

  • possess experience of working in a busy, public environment.
  • be flexible, with a positive attitude.
  • demonstrate good team working and communication skills.
  • demonstrate an excellent standard of patient care.

General practice experience and knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage.

Blyth's Meadow surgery is in Braintree and has a list size of 11,500 patients. We are part of Braintree PCN which comprises of 5 surgeries.
We have a really good supportive team of 4 Partners, 2 Salaried Doctors, 2 ANP's, 3 Nurses, pharmacist and 3 paramedics.
