Overview Sidney House & The Laurels Surgery is looking for a salaried GP or GP partner to join our practice providing six clinical sessions per week. The role includes proportionate participation in an on-call rota with the other GPs as well as one hour per week of extended access telephone appointments on a Monday (with the option to carry out remotely).
Responsibilities Undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion
Making professional autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation
Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
Providing health education
Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards
Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements
Delivering enhanced services
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
Participating in professional meetings throughout the year as required
All general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
Qualifications Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
Annual appraisal and revalidation
Be on the NHSE medical performers list

Skills and attributes Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management and primary prevention and screening services
Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date

Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice

About Us We are a two-site training practice based in the semi-rural villages of Hatfield Peverel and Boreham serving a patient population of 11,400. Our staff are required to work over both of our surgery locations.
Our team is made up of three GP Partners, five salaried GPs, a Paramedic Practitioner, a Nurse Prescriber, three Practice Nurses, two HCAs and a Phlebotomist. We are further supported by PCN staff including a Pharmacist, Physiotherapist and Social Prescriber. Additionally we have a well established non-clinical team of managers, administrators, dispensers and receptionists.
