Central Basildon PCN currently has an opportunity for an experienced advanced nurse practitioner (ANP) to join their team on a part-time basis. This role is a maternity cover for 6 months. Based in Basildon, the role will primarily be involved in clinical assessment and treatment of minor illnesses.

Duties will include:

  • Delivering a high standard of patient care, using advanced, autonomous clinical skills and a broad, in-depth, theoretical knowledge-base;
  • Assessing, diagnosing and treating patients’ conditions, initiating direct referrals, as appropriate;
  • Providing expert advice to patients, carers and colleagues;
  • Developing innovative concepts, models, methods and practices, to help deliver improved primary care to our practice population;
  • Advancing patient health and well-being through the use of health promotion, health education, screening and therapeutic communication skills;
  • As an independent prescriber: to prescribe safe, effective and appropriate medication, as defined by current legislative framework;
  • Leading and undertaking research and audits;
  • Providing leadership, education and training to different healthcare professionals, staff and students;
  • As a vital part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Registered general practice nurse, holding current registration with the NMC;
  • Hold a recognised ANP qualification at master's level;
  • Hold an independent prescriber qualification;
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy;
  • Confident in leading in a variety of settings;
  • Forward-thinking and will strive to develop innovative ideas and new ways of working, that address the health needs of the practice, whilst motivating and encouraging others to do the same;
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator.
