Clinical Coder role supporting day‑to‑day administrative and coding duties for Primary Care Hub.
Contract: Part time and bank positions available. Salary: £16,260.80 per annum or £13.86 per hour (bank). Location: Primary Care Hub, Litherland, L21 7LB.
Shifts:
- Salaried – 22.5 hours per week: Wednesday 08:00 – 16:00, Thursday 10:30 – 18:30, Friday 10:30 – 18:30.
- Bank – Monday to Friday 08:00 – 13:30 & 13:00 – 18:30.
Responsibilities
- Summarise and code relevant information from patients’ clinical records and hospital correspondence into EMIS Web.
- Follow practice protocols, policies and procedures, including confidentiality of all information.
- Process all correspondence received, in both digital and paper formats accurately and efficiently.
- Undertake clinical documentation reading and assist in workflow optimisation.
- Manage new patient registration.
- Support the Clinical team with processing referrals using the electronic referral system.
- Support clinical staff with administration duties as requested.
- Liaise with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a wide variety of people.
- Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office and EMIS.
- Experience in problem solving in pressured environments.
- Knowledge of clinical coding and GP workflow protocols.
- A good working knowledge of medical terminology.
