In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
- Strategic Sustainability Storytelling: Develop and implement a compelling storytelling strategy that highlights sustainability achievements and product journeys. Use a multi-channel approach to communicate impact through data, narratives, and visual content.
- Simplifying Complex Topics: Translate intricate sustainability and ethical topics within the fashion industry into clear, engaging, and accessible messages that align with broader communication goals and resonate with diverse audiences.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Risk Management: Collaborate with the Corporate Affairs team to anticipate and manage reputational risks. Foster two-way dialogue with key external stakeholders to build trust and understanding around sustainability and ethics.
- Media Relations & Content Creation: Craft media statements, manage press office activities, and maintain strong relationships with journalists. Create compelling multimedia content—videos, imagery, interviews—for use across traditional and digital platforms.
- Digital & Internal Communications: Work closely with Digital and Internal Communications teams to enhance the Primark Cares website and internal engagement. Drive visibility of sustainability initiatives across stores, offices, and sourcing regions.
- Global Collaboration & Market Support: Partner with country managers and communications leads in key markets to align messaging, manage risks, and uncover opportunities to elevate Primark’s sustainability narrative and brand reputation.

- Extensive Communications Expertise: Over 8 years of experience in strategic communications within corporate, sustainability, or social purpose environments, with a proven ability to deliver impactful messaging and campaigns.
- Sustainability Knowledge & Passion: Deep understanding of environmental and sustainability issues, including familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as the CMA’s Green Claims Code, and a genuine passion for driving positive change.
- Experience in Complex, Fast-Paced Environments: Demonstrated success operating in dynamic consumer goods or retail sectors across multiple international markets, with the agility to manage rapid change and ambiguity.
- Strategic Thinking & Business Acumen: Strong grasp of business fundamentals and strategy, with the ability to align communications with broader business goals and influence stakeholders across a matrixed organization.
- Clear, Audience-Focused Communication: Proven ability to craft clear, concise messaging tailored to diverse audiences. Skilled in internal communications, colleague engagement, and translating complex topics into accessible narratives.
- Organised, Results-Driven & Collaborative: Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a hands-on, customer-centric approach. Known for delivering results through effective planning, execution, and collaboration in team environments.
