What You’ll Do as Product Manager

  • Lead product strategy, execution, and people by owning a large, complex software product domain, coaching and developing a team of Product Owners, and leading cross‑functional experts to deliver resilient products aligned with Primark’s business goals.
  • Translate business and technology priorities into clear delivery plans by partnering proactively with senior stakeholders across Technology and the wider business, aligning adjacent product roadmaps, shaping quarterly and long‑term plans, and defining measurable technical, business, and customer OKRs/KPIs.
  • Own financial and operational accountability across the product portfolio, including Total Cost of Ownership, build vs. buy decisions, vendor selection and management, licensing, support, operational overheads, and budget forecasting in partnership with Finance and Procurement.
  • Drive end‑to‑end product lifecycle delivery from discovery to launch, optimisation, and ongoing operations, ensuring products are secure, resilient, compliant, and continually delivering value in line with strategy.
  • Continuously improve customer and user experience by adapting to new insights, working with cross‑functional teams to define next steps, monitoring industry trends, and engaging internal and external partners to build shared understanding and capability.
  • Ensure strong governance, resilience, and transformation support by maintaining robust application stewardship (disaster recovery, business continuity, audit readiness, security, risk, and governance compliance), evaluating third‑party technologies, promoting agile and product practices, and participating in the on‑call rota as required.

  • Extensive senior leadership experience, with 10+ years in Product Management, Digital Product Leadership, or large scale enterprise technology transformation, supported by an appropriate degree, equivalent qualification, or experience.
  • Visionary, passionate technologist, able to scan established, emerging, and future technologies, translate them into business opportunities, inspire others to challenge the status quo, and successfully execute new ways of working.
  • Strong retail and technology domain knowledge, with a strategic mindset that blends technical, operational, and commercial considerations to maximise product value and define clear, value based outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills, including storytelling with data, building compelling cases for change, simplifying complex topics for senior stakeholders, and developing trusted relationships across Technology and the wider business.
  • Proven change and people leadership capability, delivering transformation at scale across people, process, and technology, inspiring and coaching diverse, geographically distributed teams, and role modelling inclusive, effective leadership.
  • Deep product and execution expertise, applying product development methodologies, anticipating risks and opportunities, switching effectively between strategic vision and detailed execution, maintaining technology currency, resolving escalations, and contributing beyond core responsibilities.
